Benjamin Sesko last-gasp winner sees Man Utd outlast Fulham

United had taken a 2-0 lead through Casemiro and Matheus Cunha, with Casemiro scoring from a Bruno Fernandes free-kick and later setting up Cunha for a first-time finish after the break.

Fulham staged a late fightback. Raul Jimenez converted a penalty in the 85th minute, and substitute Kevin struck a superb equaliser in added time, appearing to rescue a point. However, Sesko met a Fernandes pass in the fourth minute of stoppage time to score the winner, sending United into the Premier League's top four.

The match featured several VAR interventions. An early penalty awarded to United for a foul on Cunha was overturned, resulting in Casemiro's header from a free-kick. Fulham also had a goal by Jorge Cuenca disallowed for offside in the second half.

Carrick, a former United midfielder and captain, has now won three consecutive league games since replacing Ruben Amorim, who left after 36 Premier League games in charge. The victory marked a strong start to the new era and highlighted United's ability to secure late goals under their interim manager.

Fulham remain in eighth place and continue to deal with uncertainty over their squad, with playmaker Harry Wilson missing the match and new signing Oscar Bobb yet to make his debut.
