Nigeria international Raphael Onyedika to stay at Club Brugge after Wolfsburg bid rejected

According to transfer market expert Sacha Tavolieri, internal discussions were held on Sunday, with all parties agreeing to revisit a potential transfer during the summer under more favourable conditions, All Nigeria Soccer reported.

Wolfsburg reportedly tabled a final bid valued at close to 20 million euros, including bonuses, but Club Brugge opted to reject it. This decision ensures that Onyedika, 24, will continue to play a key role in the midfield for the remainder of the season.

The Nigerian international, who impressed at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, has long been linked with several European clubs. Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt previously showed strong interest last summer, and Wolfsburg's late push represented the latest attempt to secure the talented midfielder.

Onyedika joined Club Brugge from Danish club FC Midtjylland in 2022 and has since made 168 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.

His consistent performances in domestic and European competitions have established him as one of Belgium's most highly regarded young midfielders.

By rejecting Wolfsburg's offer, Club Brugge retains their influential player while preparing for a structured transfer strategy that reflects his market value.

Discussions are expected to resume during the summer transfer window, allowing a potential move to benefit both the player and the club.

For now, Onyedika remains focused on Club Brugge, where he is set to continue driving the team's domestic and continental campaigns ahead of a possible summer departure.
