Betway Premiership: Arrows defeat Orbit as Gallants and Siwelele end all square

Shezi's Late Strike Seals Arrows Comeback Win

Golden Arrows claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Orbit College in Rustenburg, with goals from Junior Dion and Khulekani Shezi proving decisive.

The match began at a lively tempo, with both sides creating early chances. Orbit College threatened through Mbulelo Wagaba and Gomolemo Khoto, while Arrows responded with efforts from Dion and Siyanda Mthanti, but the first half ended goalless despite several saves from both goalkeepers.

The breakthrough arrived in the 58th minute when Dion finished a quick counter-attack from close range to put Arrows ahead. Orbit responded almost immediately, and just two minutes later Ben Motshwari struck from distance to level the score at 1-1.

The game opened up after the equaliser, with both teams pushing forward. Arrows looked more dangerous in attack, forcing saves and creating chances through Lungelo Nguse and Nhlanhla Zwane.

The decisive moment came in the 69th minute when Khulekani Shezi fired a low shot from outside the box into the bottom corner to restore Arrows' lead.

Orbit pushed hard in the closing stages, with Ben Motshwari seeing a late header blocked and Siyabulela Mabele missing from close range.

However, Arrows held firm through stoppage time despite injury delays and late pressure to secure all three points.

Ten-Man Siwelele Hold Firm in Bloemfontein Stalemate

Marumo Gallants were held to a 0-0 draw by Siwelele in a physical and tightly contested match at Dr Molemela Stadium.

The first half saw both sides struggle to find rhythm, although Siwelele created the better chances. Bohlale Ngwato and Gamphani Lungu tested goalkeeper Kagiso Mlambo, who produced key saves to keep the score level.

Gallants had their moments, with Katlego Otladisa and Sibusiso Ncube both missing from promising positions, but neither side could break the deadlock before the break.

The turning point came early in the second half when Siwelele were reduced to ten men in the 50th minute after Thato Letshedi received a red card for a foul.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Siwelele remained organised and continued to threaten on the counter-attack. Ngwato forced another strong save, while Nyiko Mobbie and Lungu both came close.

Gallants pushed forward in the final stages, introducing attacking substitutions and creating late chances through Bheki Mabuza and Lebohang Mabotja, but their efforts were either blocked or off target.

Siwelele held on under pressure, with goalkeeper interventions and defensive discipline ensuring they secured a valuable point away from home.
