Betway Premiership: Durban City among four teams eager to claim first win of the 2026/26 campaign

Durban City vs Golden Arrows

Durban City will look to claim their first points of the Betway Premiership season when they welcome Lamontville Golden Arrows to Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday, 12 August.

The hosts began their campaign on the wrong foot, suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United at Seshego Stadium. That result leaves Durban City 13th in the early standings.

Khalil Ben Youssef's charges also endured a 2-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-finals - putting the head coach under pressure.

"As a new coach, you don't open all of your luggage; you keep it ready [to go], and that's a part of our job because we're always at risk," said Ben Youssef.

He added: "The conversation with the board was we would do a proper analysis after 15 games, and that's a mandate we agreed on, and there's a certain number of points we need to achieve as well."

Golden Arrows, meanwhile, occupy ninth after playing out a goalless stalemate with Chippa United in their opening fixture at King Zwelithini Stadium.

They will also draw confidence from their most recent meeting with Durban City, having secured a 1-0 win in April through Isaac Cisse's 37th-minute goal.

Milford FC vs Siwelele

Milford FC will look to bounce back when they host Siwelele FC at Richards Bay Stadium on Wednesday with kick-off scheduled for 19:30.

Dr Xanti Pupuma's side endured a difficult opening fixture, suffering a 2-0 loss away to Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium. They will now aim to respond on home soil and secure their first league points of the campaign.

Siwelele, meanwhile, arrive after sharing the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw with TS Galaxy on 2 August. Under Lehlohonolo Seema, the visitors will hope to build on that result and claim maximum points in Richards Bay.
