Betway Premiership: Kaizer Chiefs target first win in five as they host Golden Arrows

Chiefs approach the fixture in a position of relative stability. They have suffered only one league defeat so far and have conceded just six goals, a return that reflects their emphasis on defensive organisation and controlled performances.

However, Amakhosi have failed to win in their last four fixtures across all competitions. Their most recent league games resulted in back-to-back goalless draws.

Defender Paseka Mako has made it clear the squad is not weighed down by previous results against Arrows, while the coaching staff continue to prioritise structure and discipline.

"Our main focus is tomorrow. We don't worry about the past too much, we've prepared very well for them and the past means very little," said Mako.

The most recent meeting between the teams was decided by a single goal, with Chiefs edging a tight 1-0 victory. That result typified a fixture often defined by fine margins.

Across the last five encounters in all competitions, Chiefs have recorded two wins to Arrows' three, reinforcing the unpredictable nature of the rivalry.

Golden Arrows, by contrast, arrive under pressure to arrest a worrying run of form. Coached by Manqoba Mngqithi, Arrows are built around high energy, pressing and midfield dominance, but have struggled to apply those principles consistently.

Four defeats in their last five matches, including a narrow loss to AmaZulu FC, have exposed attacking inefficiency and defensive vulnerability.
