Brentford captain Christian Norgaard confirms star striker Bryan Mbeumo 'likely' to depart club

The dynamic duo have carried the Bees' attack in Ivan Toney's absence, netting 18 goals apiece and catching the attention of several top clubs - Manchester United among those reportedly leading the race for Mbeumo's signature.

"I think Bryan is likely to go," Norgaard told Sky Sports. "I don't know about Wissa yet-everyone hopes he might stay. Either way, I'm happy for both of them. They deserve everything that comes their way."

Despite the looming exits, Norgaard remains optimistic, drawing parallels to past departures of stars like Ollie Watkins, Saïd Benrahma, and Toney himself. Brentford's recruitment machine, he insists, is already at work.

With Brazilian striker Igor Thiago already in the door, Norgaard believes the club is prepared to weather another transition. "I'm sure he'll be ready when the time comes. The club is so talented in staying two or three steps ahead."

Riding a three-game winning streak and sitting ninth in the Premier League, Brentford may be entering a new chapter - but confidence remains that the next one will be just as competitive.
