Despite his late goal, Greenwood was not the star of the show on the day, though. That honour fell to Amini Gouiri who bagged a brace with goals in the 56th and nine minutes into stoppage time at the end of the match.
La Havre could only answer back with a single goal by Issa Soumare in the 66th minute, leaving them to fall to a 3-1 defeat and ensuring Mareille can not finish the season lower than third place, confirming Champions League football for the club next season.
However, despite his goal, French media were not overly impressed with Greenwood's all-around performance in the game, with L'Equipe rating him at just a 6/10.
The French publication described his performance as "strange" do to his propensity to try and dribble his way out of trouble and solve problems on the field on his own rather than relying on teamplay.
While they admitted they were unable to deny his talent, the news outlet also said they found his style of play "terribly annoying".
La Phoceen was much more complimentary towards the English winger, rating his performance an 8.5/10, noting that he was responsible for creating Marseille's most dangerous chances as well as scoring a goal of his own.
Elsewhere in Ligue 1 on Saturday, PSG cruised past Montpellier 4-1, while Angers beat Strasbourg 2-1. AS Monaco looked relatively comfortable in their 2-0 win over Lyon, with Auxerre and Nantes cancelling each other out in a 1-1 draw.
Brest made short work of Lille with a 2-0 win while Saint-Etienne beat Reims by the same margin. Toulouse and Lens drew 1-1 in the final match of the day.
