Cardiff City sign Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Kanga on loan

The 27-year-old former Angers SCO and Young Boys attacker joins the English Championship side from 2. Bundesliga team Hertha Berlin.

Kanga, who is a product of the Paris St-Germain youth academy, has played 23 times for Hertha, scoring two goals, since his switch from Switzerland in 2022.

He spent last season on loan to Belgium Pro League club Standard Liege, where he netted 12 times in 32 appearances.

Upon his Cardiff switch, Kanga told the club's website: "I feel very happy to be here. I know all about Cardiff City already. We want to get this club back up the league.

"I've enjoyed being in the stadium already. You can feel something special around it. I can't wait now to play in front of our fans."

Cardiff boss Erol Bulut added: "He has got a bit of everything as a forward. He works hard and can finish. He has a lot of quality.

"We needed more in that position this season. We were excited by what he showed last term in Belgium and believe as coaches we can help him get even better.

“He knows what he must deliver as part of our team. We hope he can score and assist a lot of goals.”
