Carling Knockout: Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy march into quarterfinals

Golden Arrows too strong Sekhukhune United

Golden Arrows surged into the quarterfinals of the Carling Knockout after coming from behind to down Sekhukhune United 3-1 at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

It was the visitors that took the lead in first half stoppage-time when Bradley Grobler found the back of the net.

The home side though were relentless after the halftime interval and equalised in the 57th minute as substitute Jerome Karlese scored.

Ayabulela Maxwele then out the hosts in front just after the hour mark as Arrows took the ascendancy in the contest.

The final nail in the coffin was delivered by defender Ayanda Jiyane as Arrows marched into the next round.

TS Galaxy into next round after beating Orbit College

TS Galaxy marched into the next round of the Carling Knockout after a 1-0 victory against Orbit College at the Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg.

The action was tense throughout and the game finished goalless in regulation but Mehdi Ouamri came off the bench to score in the first half of extra-time to send the Rockets into the stage.

Orbit College have now tough start to the season in South Africa's top-flight having only twice in nine league matches and they have now been knocked out of the first cup competition.

TS Galaxy continue a decent start to the campaign, having four of their eight games to sit seventh in the standings, and now into the last eight of the Carling Knockout.
