Cedric Kaze urges focus as Kaizer Chiefs extend winning streak

The result not only extended their best run of the Betway Premiership season but also strengthened their push for a CAF Confederation Cup spot.

Rather than celebrating the milestone, Kaze shifted the focus to discipline and consistency — areas he believes will ultimately define their campaign.

"We need to keep pressure — in training, in recovery, in everything we do. Sleep well, stay focused and pull in the same direction," he said after the match.

Chiefs' improvement in recent weeks has been built on a more structured approach, with greater discipline and smarter decision-making in key moments. The return of experienced players has provided stability, while younger members of the squad have stepped up during a demanding run of fixtures.

However, Kaze remains cautious, mindful of the inconsistency that plagued the team earlier in the season.

"The message must stay the same. We can't relax. We need to improve every day and remain concentrated in every training session," he added.

With the race for continental qualification intensifying, Chiefs have opened a gap over rivals such as AmaZulu, while also holding games in hand. Still, Kaze is aware that those advantages can quickly disappear if focus slips.

For a squad still finding its balance between youth and experience, maintaining momentum could prove more difficult than building it.

While four consecutive victories mark clear progress, Kaze's stance underlines a broader reality — that success in the league is defined not by short bursts of form, but by sustained consistency. And for Chiefs, the challenge now is not reaching this level, but staying there as they look to book their place at the continental competition next season.
