"We need to find a way to stop making the same mistakes," he added. "We talk about it, but we have to show it on the pitch. The motivation is there - now it's about being consistent and fighting for every point."

For Forest, the victory provided a timely boost ahead of their European assignment. Awoniyi, who will miss the second leg, backed his teammates to finish the job and reach the final.

"We've been through a lot this season, but the group has been brilliant," he said. "There are only a few games left, and we're approaching each one with the right mentality."
