Cole Palmer and Wesley Fofana available for Chelsea clash against Everton

Cole Palmer and Wesley Fofana available for Chelsea clash against Everton

Chelsea are searching for their first league victory since last month's trip to Burnley and are keen to respond after a midweek European defeat away to Atalanta, a match in which Fofana was forced off with an eye injury. Despite those concerns, Maresca has said both players trained and are available for selection.

Speaking to the club's official website, Maresca offered a positive update on Palmer's condition.

"Cole is okay. He's better. He is, at the moment, available," Maresca said. "Yesterday he finished the session with us with mixed feelings, but overall, he's fine."

The Chelsea boss also confirmed there are no issues with Fofana ahead of the weekend.

"Wesley is fine," Maresca said. "He completed the session yesterday."

Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League standings, and Maresca believes improving consistency is the key step if they are to sustain their push near the top of the table.

"Consistency is the next step for us," he said. "It's just one week, it's not a long time, but for sure when something happens, the next game you are more prepared, and you can avoid that."

Maresca also stressed the importance of learning from setbacks over the course of a long campaign.

"In terms of human beings, it's impossible to be at the same level for the whole season," he said. "But we need to learn things for the future."

With Palmer's creativity and Fofana's presence at the back, Chelsea will hope they have enough quality available to turn promise into points against Everton.
