Controversial Lupopo defender Dieumerci Mukoko Amale hit with two-match CAF ban

Controversial Lupopo defender Dieumerci Mukoko Amale hit with two-match CAF ban

The 27-year-old right-back has travelled with his team to South Africa for the group stage encounter but will play no part in the match after a suspension by the Confederation of African football.

Lupopo secured their place in the group stage with victory over Orlando Pirates in the Second preliminary round.

Both teams had a player sent off in the tie, while Mukoko escaped punishment for a headbutt attempt on Pirates' Masindi Nemtajela and a stamp on Oswin Appollis.

He also celebrated wildly in front of the Pirates bench after the final whistle before a confrontation with Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi.

CAF have since reviewed the footage and issued a two-match ban.
