Daniel Farke: Leeds need rock-solid defence against Fulham

After collecting four points from their opening three fixtures, the German manager is eager for his players to build on encouraging performances and continue their progress following the international break.

Leeds will be without first-choice goalkeeper Lucas Perri, who is sidelined through injury. In his absence, Wales international Karl Darlow is set to step in, bringing valuable experience to the back line as the Whites look to remain competitive on the road.

"What we have to do is win as many games as possible," Farke told the media at Thorp Arch.

"We are already on four points, we have two clean sheets and a first win under our belt.

"It was always my belief, especially as a newly promoted side, that it is important you are rock-solid at the back.

"Rock-solid defending and to be difficult to beat and difficult to create chances against is always the first steps as a newly promoted side and this is what we have to do.

"A good balance will always be important but we won't change our DNA. We had games against Newcastle and Everton not parking the bus. We were dominating in many periods of the game.

"We played attacking football but we still needed a good structure and good work against the ball. We want to keep going also in these terms. If I look at the physical data so far, we have outperformed our opponents and we have to keep going in this.

"We have to make sure our fighting spirit, our team spirit and also our togetherness is top class. We have to work on different topics to be competitive in order to score the amount of goals we need."

Fulham, meanwhile, will aim to make the most of home advantage, with Marco Silva's men determined to claim a result against a Leeds side intent on climbing further up the table.
