Dean Dyche declares Forest ready for any opponent after crushing Ferencvaros

The victory at the City Ground was a strong finish to the group phase and gave Forest the advantage of hosting the second leg of their upcoming tie.

Forest opened the scoring when Ferencvaros defender Bence Otvos turned Ryan Yates's cross into his own net in the 17th minute. Brazilian striker Igor Jesus then struck twice, taking his European tally into double figures this season, before James McAtee wrapped up the rout from the penalty spot in the closing stages.

After the match Dyche was clear about his team's mindset. "It has not been easy through various games, the schedule, planning, travelling and all that sort of stuff," he told media. "To come out of a disappointing one in Braga and then to deliver that, I am very pleased.

"I said last time I want them to lay a marker down and put constant doubt in my mind."

Dyche also singled out individual performances, saying he was "pleased" with McAtee's contribution and highlighting Dan Ndoye's sharp display. "Some of the games he hasn't been where we want him to be. Tonight, he was and I am pleased for him."

Forest now await the draw to discover whether their next opponents will be Fenerbahce or Panathinaikos, with the ties set to be played over two legs in February.

The second leg will be at the City Ground on February 26, offering a chance to build momentum before a busy Premier League schedule that follows.

Dyche emphasised the challenge ahead: "We will take whatever comes. It's about working hard to get this far and then going again. It's going to be the challenge."
