Stanley Nwabali's Chippa United exit a misstep, says former Nigeria teammate William Troost-Ekong
Former Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong says Stanley Nwabali made a mistake by leaving Chippa United before he found a new club.

The Super Eagles mentor has explained why he has called up several new players into the team during recent friendlies and the upcoming fixture against Portugal.
Chelle is rebuilding his side after failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as well and a third place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
"We have analyzed our game over the past year and have tried to bring in players who can help the team grow," said the Malian to Nigerian media.
"We need to improve because, for me and for everyone, it is often the smallest details that make the difference between being the best team and winning a trophy."
The Super Eagles recently won the 2026 Unity Cup with a less familiar squad and has now integrated some of those players with more established stars ahead of the Portugal clash.
"So we have to improve because we analyze everything. I think we have to bring in some young players who can bring a new mentality and something new," added Chelle.
"It is not a question about only mentality because the group has mentality to win but we need to put something fresh."
Nigeria will face Portugal at the Estádio Municipal de Leiria next Wednesday.
