Fagrie Lakay steers Cleopatra to Egyptian League Cup success

The 28-year-old former SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits striker is currently on loan with Gold & Blood from CAF Champions League winners Pyramids FC.

During his time with his parent club, Lakay scored 33 goals and provided 11 assists in 118 games in all competitions, alongside their Egyptian Cup success.

This season, he has netted five goals and set up seven more in 28 games for Cleopatra, including in Thursday's final that ended 2-0 against National Bank.

Mohamed Reda had opened the scoring at the Al-Salam Stadium on 40 minutes and Lakay fired home a second with 79 minutes on the clock.

Cleopatra have now won the Capital Cup title for three seasons in a row, making them the most successful club in the competition's short history.

The result also secured the club's place in next season's Egyptian Super Cup.
