Frenkie de Jong would be 'delighted' if Marcus Rashford stays at Barcelona

The England international joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United in July 2025 and has quickly become an important figure under manager Hansi Flick.

Rashford has contributed 14 goals and 11 assists during Barcelona's successful campaign, playing a key role in the club's title-winning season.

His performances have reportedly convinced De Jong that the Catalan side should keep the 28-year-old on a permanent basis.

Barcelona hold an option to buy Rashford outright when his loan deal expires next month, although his long-term contract with Manchester United still runs until 2028.

De Jong praised Rashford's impact both on and off the pitch, pointing to the attacker's consistency and influence in crucial matches throughout the season.

"Yes I think so. In the minutes he's played, he's given us a lot: goals, assists, attacking runs. He's a fast player who poses a real threat to opposing defences. I'd be delighted if he stays with us," he told Sport.

"I saw him arrive full of enthusiasm. He was very happy to be here, and from the first moment, it was clear he wanted to stay. He's tried to adapt as best he can, and I've seen him doing well."

The loan switch has revitalised Rashford's career after a difficult spell in England, with the forward rediscovering his best form since arriving in Spain.
