Frustrated Alexandre Lafitte demands more from relegation-threatened Marumo Gallants

Frustrated Alexandre Lafitte demands more from relegation-threatened Marumo Gallants

Lafitte's side have struggled this season with just three wins from their opening 16 games sit in 13th place on the Betway Premiership standings, but this was their first defeat at home.

Amakhosi conversely are quietly going about their business, with this result lifting the club into second place with eight victories from 15 matches played.

Lilepo's exceptional strike was the difference at the Dr Molemela Stadium, and ahead of facing AmaZulu at the same venue this weekend, Lafitte's says needs his players to be more clinical in front of goal.

"It's a bit frustrating because we manage to create a lot of good situations to score, but the big difference between us and our opponents is some of their individual brilliance," Lafitte said on IOL.

"It's important to be perfect collectively, and at the moment it's important to score and avoid conceding goals."

"Finishing is the problem, but we also find solutions and then we still concede goals. I know it's difficult, but you need to have the same intensity," Lafitte added.

"In the second half, our players decreased their intensity, and with that we created opportunities for the opponents to score. If we scored in the first half, the game would have turned out differently."

AmaZulu are enjoying a strong season and head into this game in fourth place on the standings.

"It will be a different opponent, and it will be important to be ready. It will be important to improve, have a positive mindset, and go into the AmaZulu game with belief that we can win that match, the head coach concluded.
