Lebohang Maboe reflects on Kaizer Chiefs' hard fought victory

Lebohang Maboe reflects on Kaizer Chiefs' hard fought victory

Maboe's performance was a key factor in Chiefs moving up to second place in the league, just two points behind Mamelodi Sundowns.

After the game, Maboe, who was named man-of-the-match, reflected on the challenges he has faced in recent months and his determination to bounce back stronger.

"The past few months have been very tough for me, but I thank God for the talent I've been given and the chance to play at this level," Maboe told SuperSport TV.

He also gave insight into his approach on the night, saying he had to remain calm so that he can help the team win the match.

"The game was competitive and tough. Our opponents tried to control the tempo, but I felt we wanted it more, and that's why we got the win," he added.

"I'd describe my game tonight as 'maestro' - I had to calm the tempo and help the team stay confident, especially in the first half. The second half was more challenging, but the important thing is we got the three points."

With Maboe back in top form, Chiefs look well-equipped to keep the pressure on Sundowns as the race for the Betway Premiership title heats up.

Amakhosi are on second spot on the log with 30 points after 15 games, two points behind leaders Downs.
