Golden Arrows claim KZN derby bragging rights, Amazulu hit back to force a draw

Golden Arrows 1-0 Durban City

Golden Arrows claimed the bragging rights in the KZN derby after beating Durban City at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.

Isaac Cisse netted in the 37th minute what proved to be the winner as Arrows strengthened their position to finish the season in the top-eight.

Manqoba Mngqithi's now sit eighth in the standings, three points clear of Stellenbosch FC, although they have played a game more than their rivals.

It was a ninth defeat of the campaign for Durban City as they sit sixth on the log, three points ahead of Polokwane City.

Siwelele 1-1 Amazulu

Siwelele will be disappointed after being held to a draw against 10-man Amazulu at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The hosts took the lead on the half hour mark when Vincent Pule found the back of the net, and appeared to be in full control as Nkosikhona Radebe was shown a red card for the visitors.

Usuthu though showed their never say die attitude, first not conceding despite a numerical disadvantage before Mlondi Mbanjwa scored nine minutes from full-time to force a stalemate.

The result leaves Siwelele in 10th place on the log, four points off the top-eight, while Amazulu remain fourth, level on points with third-placed Kaizer Chiefs.
