Barcelona lead La Liga on 46 points after 18 matches, four ahead of Real Madrid, and Flick has stressed that focus and attitude inside the squad matter more than speculation about new signings.
"I believe the most important thing for me right now, with the transfer market open, is that everyone is 100 percent committed to this club and this team," Flick said. "That is what matters most to us. There is no room for ego, because ego kills any success."
The Barcelona coach has repeatedly underlined that transfer decisions are made in close cooperation with sporting director Deco. Flick prefers not to speak publicly about players from other clubs and has been clear about where responsibilities lie.
"That's Deco's responsibility," Flick said when asked about potential signings. He added: "I know what signings I want for this team. I'll talk to Deco about this, because we need some time to discuss it."
While pleased with the balance in his squad, Flick has acknowledged that Barcelona still need to strengthen specific areas if they are to compete at the highest level, particularly in Europe.
"Our attack has a good balance now," he said. "The transfer window is open, and we're looking to bring in at least one more player to strengthen the right-back position." Flick has also highlighted the need for a top-class left winger and a centre-back to improve competition, especially in the Champions League.
Flick is realistic about the uncertainty of the market. "If you follow the transfer market, it's crazy," he said. "We'll see what happens."
For now, his focus is clear. "My focus is solely on the next match," Flick said, insisting that improving the current squad on a daily basis remains the foundation of Barcelona's strong start to the season.
