Harry Kane cleared for England return against Latvia

The Bayern Munich striker, who turned 32 in July, was rested as a precaution after picking up a knock during Bayern's 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt just before the international break.

However, England coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed on Monday that his star forward is fully recovered and ready to start.

"It's very easy with Harry, he can play, he is fit," Tuchel said. "We did the right thing. Top in training and ready to go. And I don't see why he should not be able to play 90 minutes. The pause was just a short pause for him.

"He played all matches before with Bayern, so I don't see any obstacles there."

Kane's return comes as a major boost for England, who beat Wales 3-0 in a friendly at Wembley last Thursday without their record goalscorer.

The Three Lions are unbeaten in Group K and will look to strengthen their position in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign when they face Latvia on Tuesday. A win could secure early qualification for the expanded tournament.

Kane has been in fine form for Bayern this season, continuing his prolific scoring record in the Bundesliga, and Tuchel's comments suggest he will again be the focal point of England's attack as they aim to take another step towards qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
