In-form Cameroon midfielder Frank Anguissa set to extend Napoli stay - reports

The 29-year-old Cameroonian has been in fine form this season with four goals in nine league appearances, as Napoli top the league standings with 21 points from their opening nine games.

According to reports in Italy, the former Fulham and Marseiile midfielder is set to sign a new contract that will run until June 2029.

Anguissa is said to have rejected offers from the likes of Monaco, Sunderland, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce before signalling his intent to remain with Partenopei.

Speaking to DAZN after Napoli's recent 1-0 victory over Lecce, Napoli coach Antonio Conte said: "I think Anguissa, if he is switched on for 90 minutes like he was, there are few with his qualities.

"He has physique, elasticity, strength, finishing, but he can still improve in this. I like to work with midfielders who make late runs, I was one myself and I liked to score goals."
