Fae's charges kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over Ecuador before a narrow 2-1 defeat to Germany.
A point against Curacao in their final Group E encounter would be enough for Les Elephants to progress as runners-up, provided Ecuador don't beat Germany, but they will be gunning for all three points.
Ahead of the Lincoln Financial Field encounter, Far expressed what it would mean to the country to progress past the group stage for the first time in four attempts.
"It would be a huge (sense of) pride if we could clear the first round," coach Emerse Faé said Wednesday. "But I think we have more ambition than that. We would be very happy if it happened to us," he said on Times Union.
"The players realise they are close to making history by making the next round of the World Cup," added Fae.
