Ivory Coast, Senegal and Madagascar impress with strong international friendly wins

South Korea 0-4 Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast thrashed South Korea 4-0 in their friendly international match at Stadium MK on Saturday.

Goals from Evann Guessand (35') Simon Adingra (45'+1') Martial Godo (62') and Wilfried Singo (90'+3') sealed a one-sided result.

South Korea had started well but failed to take their chances before a slip in defence saw them fall behind.

Star man Son Heung-min had started the game on the bench, with a cold, before his introduction in the 58th minute but he could not influence the outcome.

Ivory Coast next face Scotland in their next friendly on Tuesday.

Argentina 2-1 Mauritania

Mauritania suffered a narrow 2-1 friendly international defeat to World Cup champions Argentina at La Bombonera.

Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute before Nico Paz netted his first international goal in the 31st minute.

Lionel Messi entered the game in the second half but missed his best chance after 55 minutes, as Mauritania were delighted with a 93rd minute consolation from Jordan Lefort.

Argentina next face Zambia at La Bombonera on March 31.

Kyrgyzstan 2-5 Madagascar

Madagascar recorded an impressive 5-2 victory over Kyrgyzstan in their FIFA friendly international at the Emir Comples on Saturday.

Arnaud Randrianantenaina, Thomas Fontaine, William Caddy, Clement Couturier were all on target in the first half.

Kyrgyzstan managed to pull two goals back around the hour mark in the second period, but Caddy sealed a comprehensive win with his 78th minute free-kick.

Madagascar are next in action against Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday.

Senegal 2-0 Peru

Senegal displayed their disputed Africa Cup of Nations trophy ahead of their 2-0 friendly win over Peru at Stade de France over the weekend.

Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring in the 41st minute and Ismaila Sarr rounded off the result with his effort with 54 minutes on the clock.

Senegal next head home to play neighbours Gambia in Dakar on Tuesday.
