Atletico Madrid's 'winning machine' awaits struggling Man Utd in Champions League
Manchester United travel to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday seeking a morale-boosting Champions League win as Michael Carrick looks to restore consistency at Old Trafford.

The decision followed Sunday's 5-2 defeat by Real Betis, which left Osasuna 16th in LaLiga with eight points from eight matches. They have won only twice this season and conceded 17 goals in their last five games, losing four of them.
Arrasate, 48, returns to El Sadar after two years away, having managed Mallorca since leaving Osasuna. The club confirmed his appointment in a statement, describing him as the coach with the second-most matches in their history and welcoming him back to begin a new project.
The Spaniard enjoyed a successful six-year spell at Osasuna, guiding them back into LaLiga before leading the club to the Copa del Rey final in 2023. That season also saw them qualify for the Conference League.
Arrasate became a popular figure among supporters in Pamplona, and Osasuna will hope his return brings greater stability after a difficult period in the dugout.
Ramis took charge in July but struggled to turn results around. He was the latest in a series of managers to leave following Arrasate's departure, with Vicente Moreno and Alessio Lisci also failing to last more than a season.
Osasuna now face the challenge of improving their defensive record and climbing away from the bottom end of the table under a manager who already knows the club and its expectations.
