Jurgen Klopp salutes Mohamed Salah legacy ahead of Liverpool goodbye

Salah, now 33, will make his final Premier League appearance for Liverpool at home to Brentford on May 24, and Klopp was quick to urge supporters to give the Egyptian a fitting send-off.

Speaking to The Anfield Wrap, the former Liverpool manager said: "I hope he can have a successful rest of the season. We texted last night, and I really hope he enjoys it. But I know Mo, he only enjoys it if the team wins and he scores."

Klopp made it clear just how highly he rated Salah's contribution, both statistically and emotionally, during their time together. "On the last matchday, I hope everyone has a smile and feels thankful," he said. "What he gave this club is incredible. Where he came from, what he went through, and what he achieved – it's special."

Under Klopp's leadership, Salah became one of Liverpool's greatest-ever players, playing a central role in their return to the top of English and European football. The German described their partnership as both demanding and rewarding.

"It was a joy, but also hard work from both sides," Klopp added. "The outcome was incredible. The numbers he produced, the performances – some of them will be very difficult to match."

He also suggested Salah's legacy could stand the test of time. "Maybe in ten years someone will challenge those records, but it won't be easy. He is one of the all-time greats."

Despite a more difficult current campaign and reported tensions with manager Arne Slot earlier in the season, Salah's overall impact remained undeniable. Last term, he drove Liverpool's title push with goals and assists, underlining his importance to the side.
