Kaizer Chiefs up to second on the Betway Premiership standings as Chippa held by Magesi

Polokwane City moved up to fifth place on the Betway Premiership with a hard-fought 1-0 win over AmaZulu on Tuesday evening.

Bulelani Nikani scored the only goal at the Princess Magogo Stadium after 15 minutes.

The result saw Rise and Shine move onto 19 points in fifth place from 12 games and left Usuthu in sixth place with 18 points, from 11 games.

New Chippa United coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi pic-ked up a point from his second game in charge of the side, since his return as a replacement for Luc Eymael, with a goalless draw with John Maduka's Magesi.

It was a far better showing than the 3-0 defeat to AmaZulu last time out, but the Chilli Boys remain rooted to the foot of the table with just seven points from 12 games - three adrift of Magesi in 14th place.

Kaizer Chiefs, meanwhile, moved up to second on the Betway Premiership standings with their comprehensive 4-1 win over newly-promoted Orbit College.

Mduduzi Shabalala (4', 61') netted a brace before Ayanda Lukhele briefly got his side back into the game on the 70-minute mark, only for Mfundo Vilakazi (73') to seal the win with his goal.

Chiefs ended the evening in second place with 22 points - level with league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, with Orbit College down in 12th with 13 points

And Sekhukhune United were held to a 1-1 draw with Richards Bay in their Premiership clash.

It was a fourth match without a win for Eric Tinkler's side, who dropped to third on the standings with 21 points.

Babina Noko had taken lead, albeit through and own goal from Tshepo Mabua on 68 minutes, but it took just eight minutes for the Natal Rich Boys to level the score as Gabadinho Mhango slotted home from close range.

The result leaves Richards Bay down in 11th position on the standings with 13 points from 12 games.

All the results:

AmaZulu FC 0-1 Polokwane City

Chippa United 0-0 Magesi

Kaizer Chiefs 4-1 Orbit College

Sekhukhune United 1-1 Richards Bay
