Leipzig's transfers: Benjamin Henrichs out, Amar Dedic and Andre Silva in?

The German club have reportedly identified Amar Dedic from their sister club, RB Salzburg, as a prime candidate to fill the void left by Henrichs.

According to Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid, the transfer pipeline between Leipzig and Salzburg has been further bolstered by the recent move of Leipzig's administrator Rouven Schroder to Salzburg. This connection is expected to streamline the transfer process for Dedic, although no formal negotiations have yet started.

On the outgoing side, Leipzig's chief personnel officer Marcel Schafer is keen on moving two players from the roster during the upcoming transfer window. One of them is Portuguese striker Andre Silva, whose future at Leipzig seems uncertain.

Spain's "Estadio Deportivo" has reported that Silva, aged 29, is on his way back to Spain on a loan deal. Negotiations with La Liga team Rayo Vallecano are said to be at an "advanced stage."

After a loan spell in Spain last season, Silva returned with hopes of securing more playing time at Leipzig, but has only managed to start in one cup and one Champions League match this season under coach Marco Rose. His standout moment was scoring from a penalty in a victory against Holstein Kiel, marking his first Bundesliga goal in nearly two years.

Silva's high salary, a remnant of his transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021, poses a financial challenge for Leipzig. The club are looking to negotiate a loan move with a purchase option to alleviate this burden, as reported by the Spanish paper.

This transfer activity indicates Leipzig's strategic approach to squad management, aiming to bolster their defense while addressing financial commitments and squad depth.
