Vusumuzi Vilakazi officially returns to Chippa United after Luc Eymael exit
Chippa United have confirmed that Vusumuzi Vilakazi has returned to the club as head coach after the club parted ways with Luc Eymael on Wednesday.
Eymael joined the club this season, as a replacement for Sinethemba Badela, and took charge of six Betway Premiership games and the Carling Knockout last 16 defeat to Richards Bay.
He leaves the club at the bottom of the standings with six points from their opening ten league games, having recorded just five points out of a possible 18.
Sinethemba Badela only lasted two games before new Upington City Musa Nyatama boss took temporary charge, also for two games.
According to iDiski Times, Vilakazi took training at Chippa on Wednesday morning alongside Sporting Director Sinesipho Mali.
Vilakazi was previously employed by Chippa as Technical Director, and he also acted assistant coach for a short period of time, in 2023.
Eymael told the publication: "I have not been fired but we parted ways on a friendship agreement just today.
"I'm thanking a lot the Chippa fans, and I'm thanking a lot the players for the positive inputs in the training session in the game, despite doing some small mistakes that cost us.
"But the guys never give up. They always work until the end, like you saw against [Marumo] Gallants, for example, because we deserved the point, like you saw against Polokwane [City]and like you saw against Sekhukhune [United].
"And yes, for the same price, we should have had three points or four points more, should have been fair. We have not been lucky also and I also thank the Chairman for giving me chance to be back here in South Africa."
