Luis Enrique happy with PSG preparation ahead of Club World Cup

PSG go into the tournament as one of the favourites to win after their victorious Champions League campaign that culminated in the 5-0 humbling of Inter Milan in the final.

Despite the relatively ease final, the Parisians proved their credentials with impressive wins over the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal from the Premier League as well as beating Manchester City in the Group Stage.

While many clubs in Europe have allowed their players to go on holiday after a long and gruelling season, those involved in the FIFA Club World Cup - such as PSG - have been in training for the past couple of weeks to be as sharp as possible for the marquee event.

"We are preparing to play in the Club World Cup, so I think the players are happy. The players are happy with what we have done so far. Now we need to keep going, improving, but I like what I'm seeing in training," Enrique told PSG TV.

"We begin this competition against a European side that we know very well having already played them in the league phase of the Champions League this season. It will be a very difficult match because they have a lot of quality. It's a new competition that, I think, has a big future and could become a reference. We want to win our matches and progress towards the final."

PSG have been drawn in Group B and will take on LaLiga's Atletico Madrid, Brazilian club Botafogo and the Seattle Sounders from the MLS looking to earn a spot in the playoff rounds.

Their opening match of the competition will be against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
