The two teams will meet at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday afternoon, with Chiefs looking to take a positive result back to South Africa ahead of the return leg.
Vilakazi expressed confidence in the team's preparations despite the challenging weather conditions in Zambia, insisting that the players are ready for the encounter.
"Training was good. It's very hot here but we'll manage. I think we are ready for tomorrow (Saturday)," the skilful player was quoted on the club's website.
The 20-year-old will also draw confidence from his previous experience at the venue, having featured when Chiefs defeated Zesco United during the group stage of last season's competition.
Reflecting on that victory, Vilakazi is hopeful that Amakhosi can repeat the feat against their Zambian opponents.
"Last time we played here we won so I think we must do the same again," he said.
Despite his determination to secure victory, the young attacker acknowledged that Red Arrows pose a challenge that Chiefs cannot afford to underestimate.
Having studied their opponents during a video analysis session, Vilakazi recognises the importance of approaching the encounter with the necessary respect and concentration.
"We saw some of them in our video session. They are a good team and we won't underestimate them," Vilakazi added.
Meanwhile, the talented left-footer has also earned a call-up to the South African national Under-20 squad, a development he welcomed while emphasising that his immediate priority remains with his club.
"I'm really happy about it but for now I am totally focused on my club and what we need to do," he concluded.
