The post, which appeared on Galaxy's social media platforms, depicted Chiefs as a donkey looking into a mirror and seeing a lion, seemingly taking a swipe at the Soweto giants' self-image.
The two sides were drawn against each other in the last 16 of the Carling Knockout, setting the stage for another encounter between the clubs, who have developed a competitive rivalry in recent seasons.
Sukazi revealed that he only noticed Motaung's message later, explaining that his demanding schedule at his law practice meant he had not immediately picked up on the issue.
"I picked up on this late. My law practice is very busy. I saw a WhatsApp message from Jessica with three question marks on this (photo). I think it is more banter, leading up to the cup match," Sukazi told Metro FM.
The Galaxy chairman suggested that the post could be interpreted differently depending on the perspective of the person viewing it, acknowledging that Chiefs supporters might not appreciate the joke as much as others.
"It depends on the beholder. Chiefs fans probably think otherwise and other people do love it. The boundary is thin, I maybe would have preferred to see the logo on the lion's head than the other animal!" he added.
Dates and venues for the Carling Knockout are yet to be confirmed and the meeting between two sides will surely be one of the interesting fixtures.
