Tashreeq Matthews opened the scoring at the Cape Town Stadium after 34 minutes and Iqraam Rayners secured the three points with his goal on 77 minutes.
The result edged the Brazilians closer to an eighth successive league title, 12 points clear of Orlando Pirates at the top of the standings, although having played two games more.
Cardoso's side could potentially claim the league with wins over Chippa United and Stellenbosch in the coming weeks.
The coach told SuperSport after the game: "A very good performance again. Not an easy game. First half, quite tricky. We had to make some corrections in our positioning at half time; message was well received.
"Second half, I think we improved even more. Beautiful goals, good performance.
"What to say? The boys are really fighting for what they want so much. We are very committed with every match. And now it’s go for next one and next one and try to, well, try to get it.
“But we need to respect everybody, all the opponents, and the next match will be again, a very tough one.”
