Mikel Arteta backs Arsenal to chase historic four-trophy season

Arsenal sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League and are unbeaten in their last 10 matches in all competitions, form that has kept them firmly in contention domestically and in Europe.

"We are building very good momentum and belief comes from performances and the level of consistency we have shown throughout 32 games this season," Arteta tells reporters on Friday, ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners remain alive in all four competitions. They have topped their Champions League group with six wins from six matches, reached the FA Cup fourth round, and hold a 3-2 advantage after the first leg of their League Cup semi-final away at Chelsea. In the league, Arsenal are leading the title race after finishing second in each of the past three seasons.

"What we did the other day at Stamford Bridge should help us to be very convinced that we have the ability to do that," Arteta says. "But the reality is you have to show it in every game. There is still so much to happen. We are glad that we are still alive in the four competitions."

Arsenal come into the Forest match after a league draw with champions Liverpool, and Arteta is cautious about the challenge posed by a Forest side that sits 17th but has improved since Sean Dyche was appointed manager in October.

"A top coach. Really good at what he does," Arteta says. "You can see straight away his fingerprints, the way they play and some of the results they have had against big teams.

"With Sean, they are different. Very efficient in what they do, with a clear identity. That is what makes them dangerous."
