Moises Caicedo confirms Chelsea's focus has switched to Bayern Munich clash

The match follows a 2-2 draw against Brentford over the weekend, where Caicedo's superb strike in the 85th minute seemed set to secure all three points for the Blues, only for Brentford to equalise in stoppage time.

Reflecting on his goal, Caicedo said, "I knew what I was going to do. I was just thinking about shooting on goal. I did it and it was a great goal. I am going to keep going to help the team."

He praised the team's resilience after the late setback, adding, "The reaction of the team was good, we needed to be patient and that's why we could come back into the game." Caicedo also highlighted the impact of substitute Cole Palmer, noting, "He changed the game, and we are happy to have him again."

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has stressed the importance of focusing on the current fixture, while the Blues now turn their attention to Bayern. "We are not happy because we didn't win, but we are just thinking about Wednesday," Caicedo said.

Chelsea have played two competitive matches at the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich, both in the UEFA Champions League. The first encounter came on May 19, 2012, in the UCL Final, which ended 1-1 after extra time before Chelsea triumphed 4-3 on penalties.

The second match took place on August 8, 2020, in the Round of 16 second leg, which resulted in a 1-4 defeat for Chelsea. Overall, Chelsea's record at the Allianz Arena includes two matches played, one win, zero draws (with the 2012 final decided on penalties), one loss, two goals scored, and five conceded.

With that history in mind, Caicedo and Chelsea are determined to respond strongly against the German giants and make a statement in their Champions League opener.
