The Brazilians claimed their fifth MTN8 title but their first one in five years as they beat perennial winners Orlando Pirates 2-0.
Downs previously last claimed the title in 2021 and the Buccaneers have won every edition of the competition since then.
They were gunning for a fifth successive crown but goals from Teboho Mokoena and Iqraam Rayners won the game for the Brazilians.
As the CAF Champions League holders return to league action, Goss, who was on the bench for the final, explained that it is business as usual for the club.
"It's exciting to have some silverware and we are very happy with that. To win it with a clean is a bonus for us. What a wonderful performance and what a way to pick up the trophy. We are happy. All the finals have their own pressure, so we are happy that we handled the pressure that we were faced with and we were won, which was the most important thing.
"The game over the weekend is over and we are now focused on the league game that's coming. Right now, we have shifted our focus to the game against Richards Bay, which will not be easy. We want to do well in that game. They've got a young side. They fight, they run, they've got energy and we know that they are gonna want to run at us, thinking we are tired. But I think we've got the experience."
Sundowns boss Miguel Cardoso is expected to make a number of changes for the upcoming league clash and Goss is hopeful he will get a call-up to start.
“We played on Saturday and we knew we have a league game on Saturday. After picking up the MTN8 trophy, we actually had a session the next day. We had two days to prepare for this game, which would be Sunday and Monday. That's the life at Sundowns. We just need to keep winning as many games as possible and keep playing every third day," he added.
