Pirates missed out on a fifth consecutive MTN8 crown after goals from Teboho Mokoena and Iqraam Rayners secured victory for the Brazilians.
The defeat ended the Soweto giants' hopes of extending their dominance in the competition, with Sibisi and his teammates left to reflect on a disappointing result despite their efforts on the pitch.
Despite the setback, Sibisi believes there are positives for Pirates to take from their performance as they look to recover and turn their attention to upcoming domestic and continental assignments.
"A difficult one to take, you know. Very, very difficult. It's going to be a very painful week for us. But we have to move on, we still have more games coming," Sibisi told the club's media.
"I think we can still build from the performance; the boys left everything on the field, but it was just not meant to be."
Pirates have little time to dwell on the defeat as they return to Betway Premiership action with a clash against TS Galaxy at Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday.
Ricardo Goss insists that Mamelodi Sundowns will put the excitement of their MTN8 success behind them as they focus on securing all three points against Richards Bay on Tuesday.
