Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya scored the decisive goal in the second half of extra-time at the Old Peter Mokabab Stadium as Usuthu made sure of their spot in the next round.

Taariq Fielies had given the visitors and early lead, when the defender heading in at the back-post in the 10th minute of the encounter.

The home side's task to get back into the contest was dealt a blow when they were reduced to 10 men just after the half hour mark as Monty Batlhabane was sent off for a reckless, studs-up challenge on Liam Bern.

Rise and Shine showed great grit with a a man down and were rewarded on the stroke of halftime when they awarded a penalty after Thabang Matuludi was fouled in the box.

Lebohang Nkaki stepped up and sent visiting goalkeeper Darren Johnson the wrong way to level the score.

Usuthu struggled to find the winner after the interval but in the dying embers of extra-time Ngwenya stepped up to give his team the win.

Soweto Super United 1 (3) - 1 (4) Milford

National First Division outfit Milford were given a scare by the ABC Motsepe League side at the Dobsonville Stadium and needed penalties to prevail.

Sifiso Mdluli had put Milfird ahead just 30 minutes of the contest and it seemed it woukd be a routine victory.

The amateur side though hit back and Thapelo Tshilo found the equaliser before the halftime interval.

The tie was eventually settled by penalties, with Milford holding their nerve to book a place in the last 16.
