New Chelsea signing Estevao fully focused on Club World Cup with Palmeiras

The 18-year-old will officially join Chelsea in July after completing the tournament with the Brazilian club. The Blues agreed a deal in July 2024 worth an initial 29m pounds, with performance-based add-ons potentially pushing the total to around 56.5m pounds, sources told ESPN.

"It means everything. It's a dream come true for me," Estevao told ESPN Brasil. "I've always dreamed of playing in Europe alongside the best - in the Champions League and the Premier League. It will be very important for my life."

Estevao, who has already made over 70 senior appearances for Palmeiras and was named both Best Striker and Breakthrough Player in Brazil's top flight last season, has quickly emerged as one of South America's most sought-after young talents. His style has drawn comparisons to Spain's teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.

Before his highly anticipated arrival in west London, Estevao is hoping to help Palmeiras mount a serious challenge at the Club World Cup, which will be his final tournament for the club.

"We know the difficulties of the competition, but we also know the strength and character of our team," he said. "I'm very calm and eager to represent Palmeiras one last time in such an important tournament. It's an incredible opportunity to show my potential."

Despite his excitement about moving to England, Estevao is aware of the challenges that await. He is currently taking English lessons and has spoken to Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo about life at the club.

"Of course, I know I'll face difficulties, but I'll be with my family - they are the pillar of my life," he said. "London, Chelsea - it couldn't be better. I hope to adapt quickly and just play - that's what I love most."

The young forward also touched on his experience with the Brazilian national team, having already earned five senior caps. His most recent appearance came under new head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

"It's a lot of joy," Estevao said of playing under Ancelotti. "He's a huge reference - not just here, but all over the world. I'm trying to enjoy every moment and learn as much as possible. He's very direct and always with the players. It's special."

Estevao is expected to join Chelsea's pre-season under Enzo Maresca, where he will compete for a place in a squad focused on youth development and long-term growth.
