Nigeria Football Federation dismiss false Eric Chelle exit rumours

Recent reporting suggested that Chelle was ready to depart his post following their defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo in their World Cup play-off encounter.

Moroccan television outlet Le7TV said that Chelle is a contender to replace Amine Benhachem at the second-placed Botola Pro 1 side.

Efoghe though has moved to end the speculation, telling journalists in a group chat: "Good day, friends and colleagues. Kindly ignore this story. It is fake news."

The Nigeria Football Federation, meanwhile, posted photos of coach Chelle with the caption: "EC is focused on the task ahead".

Chelle has one year left on his current contract with Nigeria.
