Nigerian born star Paul Onuachu sets sew Trabzonspor benchmark

The Nigerian forward is rewriting the record books at Trabzonspor after scoring in Friday's 3-1 victory over Fatih Karagumruk - his sixth consecutive league match on the scoresheet.

According to Turkish daily Fanatik, as cited by Allnigeriasoccer, Onuachu has now surpassed the club's previous record of five straight league games held by former striker and current head coach Fatih Tekke.

He has also moved beyond five-match scoring runs previously achieved by Shota Arveladze and Paulo Henrique, Allnigeriasoccer wrote.

Tekke's notable streak came during the 2004–2005 campaign, when he netted in five consecutive fixtures, including matches against Malatyaspor and Gençlerbirliği. Two decades later, Onuachu has lifted the bar even higher.

The 29-year-old currently tops the Super Lig scoring charts with 18 goals in 21 appearances. His dominance in the air has been particularly devastating, with seven of those strikes coming via headers - underlining his reputation as one of the league's most formidable aerial threats.

Since his return from international duty, the former FC Ebedei forward has scored eight goals in all competitions, seven in the league and one in the Turkish Cup, finding the net in every match he has played.

Against Fatih Karagumruk, Onuachu not only scored but also turned provider, setting up compatriot Chibuike Nwaiwu with a headed pass before the decisive third goal in the 50th minute.

With confidence soaring and records already broken, Onuachu's extraordinary consistency is fast cementing his status as one of Trabzonspor's most influential forwards in recent history - and there may be no stopping his charge just yet.
