Nigerian star Terem Moffi reacts to Porto exit ahead of Jamaica clash

Speaking ahead of Nigeria's Unity Cup final clash against Jamaica on Saturday, the Super Eagles striker revealed that he is focused on the present rather than speculation surrounding his next move during the upcoming transfer window.

Porto confirmed on Thursday that Moffi will not continue with the club after the expiry of his temporary deal from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, All Nigeria Soccer reported.

The 26-year-old joined the Portuguese champions during the January transfer window on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy reportedly worth eight million euros included in the agreement.

However, the Dragons decided against activating the purchase clause after Moffi registered two goals and one assist in 15 appearances across all competitions during his short stay in Portugal.

Moffi's future has become a major talking point in recent months, especially following his widely publicised fallout with sections of the Nice supporters after the club suffered a sixth successive defeat across all competitions towards the end of November.

Despite still having a year remaining on his contract with the French side, reports suggest that the striker is expected to leave Nice during the summer transfer window as both parties look set for a fresh start.

Addressing the uncertainty surrounding his next destination, Moffi admitted that he has no clear idea about where he will be playing next season.

"Honestly I have no clue on what's going to happen. The future I don't like to think about it, only the present. What happens today is what I'm focused on," said Moffi in an interview on YouTube posted by Nigeria Football Weekly.

Despite the uncertainty at club level, Moffi delivered an impressive display in Nigeria's 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe, providing assists for both goals scored by debutant Femi Azeez.
