Nottingham Forest rekindle interest in DR Congo star Yoane Wissa

The Reds were reported to have made an attempt to sign 28-year-old in January, but saw their bid rejected by the Bees, with the Gtech Community Stadium based team holding out for a fee around £25m to £34m.

According to Africa Foot, Forest "secretly submitted" an offer for the forward last week and Brentford are "carefully considering" the proposal.

Wissa scored 20 goals and provided five assists in all domestic competitions last season and has also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, following his former manager Thomas Frank's recent move to North London.

The DR Congo star also impressed for his nation in the recent international break, scoring a goal and providing two assists in their 3-1 victory in the friendly against Madagascar.

He has been an important member of the Leopards side that currently leads 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification Group B ahead of Senegal by a single point.

Wissa's current contract with Premier League side Brentford expires in 2026, but the club has an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
