Omar Marmoush targets Premier League title push ahead of Liverpool clash

The Egypt international has featured in eight matches this season scoring once and providing one assist, with a knee injury keeping him out of action between mid-October and early September.

"[It's a] very important match of course," said Marmoush to the Manchester City website.

"For us a team, they are the ones who won the league last season, they are among the teams fighting for the title this year. So, for us they are one of the teams we must beat."

The 26-year-old could feature against the Reds and compatriot Mohamed Salah for the second time since joining the Cityzens during the 2024/25 season, losing that league match 2-0 at the Etihad.

"Of course, playing against Salah is a big thing for me. To be two Egyptian players in the Premier League, competing for the title, but I hope Manchester City win, we'll see," added Marmoush.

"We try to keep those things separate when we're in the national team – we always try to joke around and create an atmosphere away from football."

Man City will be looking to end a three-match losing streak against Liverpool in the Premier League.
