Orlando Pirates snap up Leicesterford City midfielder Matome Mmolai - reports

The 23-year-old former JDR Stars player is set to link up with the Betway Premiership Champions ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.

The Buccaneers are already in preparations for the new season to bolster a squad that pipped perennial league winners Mamelodi Sundowns to the title by just one point, alongside clinching the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup for a historic treble.

Pirates have already confirmed the signings of Mthetheleli Mthiyane, Sibangani Zulu, Bohlale Ngwato, and Ghampani Lungu.

Also reportedly joining the Bucs ahead of the new season are Siwelele duo Neo Rapoo and Aphiwe Baliti and Golden Arrows' Siyanda Ndlovu.

And according to FARPost: "The skilful midfielder (Mmolai) has penned a deal with Pirates and will be part of the squad undergoing routine medicals this week before kick-starting pre-season training."

Mmolai was in good form for Leicesterford last season as he helped his side survive relegation with a 12th-placed finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
