Orlando Pirates unveil 2026/27 jerseys with Johannesburg-inspired gold tribute

The new season kits were revealed on Thursday alongside a powerful campaign film that pays tribute to the city's influence on generations of Orlando Pirates players, supporters and the club's enduring identity.

The launch comes as Pirates begin their countdown to their 90th anniversary in 2027, with the latest jerseys designed to honour the club's rich history while representing a new era of ambition and growth.

A standout feature of both kits is the inclusion of two iconic Orlando Pirates crests, enhanced with gold detailing as a tribute to Johannesburg's heritage, culture and people. The golden elements represent the streets, spirit and resilience that have long defined both the city and the club.

"At the heart of both jerseys sits two iconic Orlando Pirates crests, elevated with striking gold detailing - an unmistakable homage to Johannesburg," said Orlando Pirates Marketing Manager Sindi Khumalo-Sibisi.

"Woven into the fabric, and into the DNA of the Club itself, the golden accents honour the streets, people, culture and relentless hustle that have defined both the City of Gold and Orlando Pirates for generations."

The new jerseys also highlight the continued partnership between Orlando Pirates and adidas, with both brands celebrating a relationship built around heritage, innovation and the future of South African football.

The Buccaneers will debut their new home kit when they host Milford FC in a Betway Premiership clash at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday.
