Papi Zothwane chasing first victory as Sekhukhune interim coach

Zothwane was handed the responsibility of leading Babina Noko following the departure of Cedric Kaze last week.

Sekhukhune decided to part ways with Kaze after their disappointing MTN8 semi-final exit, where they suffered a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Orlando Pirates.

Despite their cup struggles, Kaze had made a reasonable start in the Betway Premiership, guiding the team to two wins and two defeats during his spell in charge.

Zothwane's first match at the helm ended in a goalless draw against TS Galaxy, with the point keeping Sekhukhune in sixth place on the league table with seven points from five matches.

The former player now faces a difficult test against Stellenbosch, particularly with the Cape side having enjoyed the upper hand in their recent meetings.

Stellenbosch defeated Sekhukhune twice in the league last season before also eliminating them from the MTN8 semi-finals. Zothwane will therefore be aware that his side will need to be at their best if they are to return to winning ways.

Stellenbosch, however, have also struggled for consistency at the start of the new campaign.

Gavin Hunt's side have collected just five points from their opening five league matches, recording one win, two draws and two defeats.
