Phuti Mohafe proud and frustrated as Oswin Appollis returns to "kill" Polokwane City

The Buccaneers ran out 2-0 winners as Appollis scored on his debut at the Orlando Stadium after 13 minutes before winning a penalty on 35 minutes that was converted by Patrick Maswanganyi.

Appollis picked up the Man of the Match award for his performance and after the game, Mohafe half-jokingly explained that he is happy to see Appollis progress in his career but had hoped it wouldn't come at the expense of his team's MTN8 aspirations.

Mohafe told SuperSport: "He scored against us. To me, it's the move we taught him at Polokwane City and he did it perfectly against us.

"It doesn't sit well with me, how could you do this with this massive move and you kill me?!

"But it's fine, we taught him well and he chose progress."

Mohafe added that he is happy with the strength of his squad heading into the new season.

“I don’t think we still have to reinforce because even those who are injured are coming back, and in them coming back the team will be much stronger,” he said.
